Why True North

My path to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner began with about six and a half years in the Navy, where I served as a Hospital Corpsman. I carried that sense of service through more than a decade in nursing—including at the ICU bedside and in hospital leadership—and into the kind of provider I am today.

This practice is deeply personal to me. After many years of moving from duty station to duty station, Stafford is the place our family is grateful to call home. Jose and I are both Navy veterans, and today our life here includes raising our school-age children, caring for our four dogs, and putting down roots in a community we love. Outside of medicine, I am happiest reading or spending time with friends and family. Those everyday parts of my life keep me grounded and remind me how much it means to feel known, supported, and at home.

In the ICU, I saw how much it matters for patients to have a provider who knows their story—not someone who simply sees a diagnosis and moves on. I am opening True North because patients deserve to be known, not just seen, and because listening should never be treated as a luxury.

That belief shapes the way this practice will work. We will keep longer appointment slots so there is time to listen, connect the pieces, answer questions, and build a plan together. I am committed to never shrinking those appointments to fit in more visits or increase profit. The time we reserve for you is part of your care, and that promise will not change.
